Technical Consulting

Independent engineering analysis and specification work so capital decisions and tender processes rest on evidence, not vendor optimism.

Consulting engagements are bounded assignments with written outcomes. We state options, risks, and indicative effort so your internal engineering and finance teams can decide.

When consulting is the right first step

Consult before you buy when the line is business-critical, safety-related functions are involved, multiple vendors propose incompatible architectures, or the last retrofit failed silently and nobody documented why. A short study often costs less than a misfired tender or a shutdown that overruns because scope was vague.

We also act as owner’s engineer on behalf of internal teams who are capacity-constrained—reviewing third-party designs, FAT attendance, and SAT criteria so external integrators meet your standards.

Consulting products

Feasibility and options analysis

Compare retain/patch, partial retrofit, and full replacement across cost, risk, production impact, and spares. Outputs include a decision matrix and recommended path with assumptions explicit.

Functional specification authoring

Requirements written in testable language for tender or internal build. Includes sequence descriptions, interface lists, performance targets, and documentation expectations.

Design review

Independent review of integrator or OEM proposals: architecture, safety concept, network design, maintainability, and alignment with your standards. Findings are prioritised (blocker / major / minor).

Tender support

Help evaluate responses against weighted criteria—not lowest price alone. Clarification questions, commercial risk flags, and technical scoring support for your procurement process.

How we stay independent

We disclose any prior implementation relationship with equipment proposed in a study. Where we may later implement, we separate consulting fees from future delivery quotes and document that dual role in the engagement letter. You may engage us for review-only work on projects implemented by others—common when internal teams need a second pair of eyes before cutover.

Deliverable quality

Reports are written for mixed audiences: engineering detail in appendices, executive summary with decision points up front. Diagrams use your drawing standards where provided. We cite standards and site rules by reference so updates propagate correctly.

Transition to delivery

When a study concludes with “proceed to build,” the specification becomes the baseline for our automation or integration services—or for your chosen integrator if you prefer arm’s-length delivery. We offer continuity so requirements are not reinterpreted at kickoff.
